When you subscribe to a specific viewpoint or ideal, you naturally gravitate to people, groups, publications, art, music, etc. that share your goal and/or beliefs. It’s not only where we meet our soulmates, but also how we refine our thoughts and get clear on what we’re sharing with the world of non-believers.
But there are a lot of voices vying to be heard amongst the seemingly like-minded. And the loudest of those voices sometimes create an idea of the whole without proper nuances being understood by the masses.
Feminism is one of the casualties of this phenomenon.
We firmly believe there is no such thing as a Truth that belittles others or creates a chasm within the ranks of humans.
So why are so many women and men repelled by the thought of feminism? Because they don’t feel like they matter. Or they’re not relevant. They’re not educated enough or smart enough. They’re not radical enough or they’re too privileged.
Effectively, communication shuts down.
In this episode, we dig deep into why Millenials are more and more turning away from feminism and the complicity of feminists in that misunderstanding.
Have you distanced yourself from feminism because you’re confused about what we’re really fighting for? Or are you afraid to express your thoughts because you’re afraid of not being a “real” feminist? Tell us about it in the Comments below.
